Still haven't watched it but I'll take your recommendation and try to see it as soon as I can. It's always great when you find out that the 'critical consensus' has been wrong all along!Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11455919210943848573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557817177464738736.post-41231624786247149122015-07-07T16:21:41.387-07:002015-07-07T16:21:41.387-07:00This comment is really late, but, in regard to The...This comment is really late, but, in regard to The Wild Party, it's actually one of the most technically advanced and "modern" of the earliest talkies. Others have written elsewhere quite eloquently about it. If you see a good print of it, perhaps you'll see that it wasn't an artistic disaster, and that other directors had a thing or two to learn from Dorothy Arzner about fluidity.

Great posting about Dangerous Curves; I'm going to watch it soon!Clatenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557817177464738736.post-57140553465067601122010-06-17T16:52:44.407-07:002010-06-17T16:52:44.407-07:00Hello there, thanks for the comment!

It sounds interesting.

As for "Dangerous Curves" I think I got it a few years ago from one of the many websites that shut down once Warners started enforcing their copyrights. Some of them shut down with my money too!Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11455919210943848573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557817177464738736.post-10582924831700014782010-06-17T08:31:33.906-07:002010-06-17T08:31:33.906-07:00Have you ever seen "The Saturday Night Kid&qu...Have you ever seen "The Saturday Night Kid"? That one isn't bad either, though it does suffer from the same problems as most of the early talkies. Where did you find a copy of "Dangerous Curves"?

I'm a bit of a Clara buff, if you couldn't already tell. ;)Flapper Flickers + Silent Stanzashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17519672156109642104noreply@blogger.com
